EDDIE HEARN said, "Don't do drugs kids," after Oscar De La Hoya had criticised him for his comments following Canelo's loss to Dmitry Bivol.
Canelo suffered his second defeat in professional boxing earlier this month when he lost a 12-round bout for the light heavyweight title at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

De La Hoya, the woman who managed Alvarez's company until their separation in 2020 following a legal dispute, criticized Hearn.
De La Hoya claims that Hearn did not see Bivol as a bridge for Alvarez.
USA Today quoted him as saying: "The fact the promoter of the event pushed Bivol against Canelo was the dumbest decision in boxing history...it is not knowing boxing."
"It was the dumbest thing...who allowed Canelo fight Bivol. Canelo would never be allowed to fight Bivol.

Hearn reacted to De La Hoya's comments, calling them naive.
De La Hoya also made a dig at the Matchroom chief's self-described past substance abuse.
Hearn said to Tha Boxing Voice, "To think Canelo Alvarez would let me make career decisions is a bit foolish of Oscar De La Hoya."
"Oscar De La Hoya has a lot to say, but I think the most important lesson you can take away from those comments is: Don't do drugs, children. "That's what [those comments] are built on.

He said, "Oscar De La Hoya is a great boxer."
"He knows more about boxing than I do, but I have no control over Canelo Alvarez's fight.
"He and Eddy Reynoso, [trainer/manager] Eddy Reynoso, choose the fights. He was a favorite against Dmitry Bivol, but he lost.
"That's boxing. What are you looking for? What is the most important thing for a champion?
"We should applaud Canelo Alvarez's willingness to constantly test himself out of his comfort zone.
