FLOYD MAYWEATHER would like to "get on" with Amir Khan, but the British boxer won't be talked out.
Khan was famously a fan of Mayweather's mega-fight for many years, only to see the talks stop.

They met up in Dubai recently and had a friendly chat on camera.
Khan said that Mayweather had tried to persuade Khan to retire by offering him a fight.
He said that "Floyd told me to get it on.
"And I said, "Brother," and he replied, "No, I don’t think you should."

"Obviously, pro fighters tell you all your lives that 'we should fight one another'. They keep you on the bench, on the side and I'm like forget about that man, I want control over myself.
"When I call it day, it is a day. It's not a day that Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao are taking control. I call it a day because we'll fight you.
"Waiting and waiting for them, so I thought nah man. I'll do the best for me."
In 2014, Mayweather used Twitter to poll his followers about who he would face next. The results were between Marcos Maidana and Khan.

Mayweather, 45 years old, continues to fight in exhibition bouts. He met Khan, 35 in Dubai, where his next one was to be held.
After losing to Kell Brook 36, Khan decided to retire but he insisted that he would not be beaten.
After years of failed talks, this would also mean that Pacquiao, Pacquiao's former sparring partner, would be canceled.
Khan stated that Maman is like a friend. He won't be happy, I believe he lost the elections.
"It's funny, because when I called it quits the sport, I got two phone calls from Manny's staff saying, "Are you really retired?"
"There is a time when it's easy to believe that the fight's going to happen.
"You don't wait, you wait. You never retire, but you keep your eyes on the fight.
"I don’t believe that fight will ever happen. It's not clear why they kept saying "We'll take that bout."
"I believe that they have said to me that they are retiring now that I am retired.

"It was shocking to them because Manny thought he might be able take that fight. And I was like, "Hell no."
"Now that Manny spent all the money on the election, I think Manny will vote, but not me. That would be a shame.
