Despite allegations of corruption, that was the last time the International Boxing Association had any control over the Olympic sport.

In the wake of refereeing scandals in Brazil, the IOC took AIBA away and began an investigation.

Joyce's loss of Yoka to Joyce was one of the controversies. However, the Brit still hopes for a delayed gold as long as the probing goes on.

He stated that he had seen the report that suggested I could be promoted from silver to gold. However, I still await the mail to receive the medal.

"I hope it will happen soon, but I must keep fighting."

Joyce, now 36 years old, became professional in 2017 after which she has raced to win a first-ever world title.

He is the mandatory challenger to the WBO belt currently held by Oleksandr Uzyk, 35.

The Ukrainian defends the belts and two others he won against Anthony Joshua (32), in an August 20 rematch at Saudi Arabia.

Joyce is now at the top of the line, but he still has to wait for his chance.

He stopped Christian Hammer (34), to pass the time in a fight where he suffered more damage than necessary.

Joyce said, "I don’t want to continue taking big shots such as this, even if the crowds find them exciting."

"The ring rust had an impact on my boxing skills, but not my timing.

"I feel ready for Fury and Joshua, but I will wait to improve my defense."
