McGregor was able to get back on his feet with an anti-gravity treadmill last month and is now able to move around with the aid of a cane.

The Irishman admitted that it wasn't all easy sailing. He told Adam's Apple, "I was upset for a while.

It has been difficult, I know. This [journey] has seen many ups and downs.

It's one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced in my entire life. You get what I'm referring to?

"It wasn't all smooth sailing but I made it through. My family and close friends were always there for me.

"And we are getting there. "We still have a lot to do.

McGregor, 33 years old, is capable of throwing any of his many kicks despite breaking his leg ten months ago.

He said, "I don’t want to get ahead of myself."

"But, like I said before, I feel like a kicker now.

"I am not yet advised to kick, but I will get back, man. Are you thinking that a broken bone will stop me? You might be wrong.

McGregor's expected return to the Octagon is scheduled for next July.

UFC chief Dana White revealed that the Dubliner would likely resume full training in April.

"The doctor stated that it would take nine months for him to start training again. We're considering it a year.
