After stepping into the cage to face the Notorious in his Straight Blast Gym in Dublin, he looked like a fish out water.

McGregor immediately went for Hyland's body after the pair had padded up.

The 38-year old Irishman was aware he was in immediate trouble and can be heard screaming: "What do you do?" I don't know where to start."

McGregor, who hasn't fought since suffering a terrible injury from Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in which he was knocked out, is still in complete control of the session and takes it easy on his opponent.

Hyland gave a glimpse of the fighter he was once by throwing some testing jabs, but nothing that could trouble the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champ.

McGregor was even able to make fun of Hyland's attempt at a takedown by himself.

John Kavanagh, the head coach of the 33-year old Hyland, uploaded the footage online. However Hyland seemed to be in good spirits and took the beating.

Audie Attar, McGregor's manager, says that he is "way ahead of schedule" in his recovery after fracturing his left tibia (and fibula) in the July trilogy fight against Poirier.

Although he is still kicking, the Irishman is back on his feet in the gym.

He will be looking to rebound from consecutive losses when he fights his next bout.
