Diaz, 38, has recently shared throwback photos from their May 2021 session, which caught Jackson's attention, 43.

He said, "I'd love for him to be his first MMA fight."

Jackson was disappointed to learn that Fury, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, made a U-turn last year on a move towards MMA.

Fury confirmed that he was only interested in striking-only matches with smaller UFC gloves (4oz).

NICK AND TUCK

After hinting at MMA switching, Fury trains alongside Nick Diaz in throwback snaps

TalkSPORT was informed by him that he had no interest in grappling on the floor or any other such activities.

"I am a stand-up fighter man. I don't wrestle up, down and grab each others arms and then sit on them all the time.

"I don't have any interest in that stuff - I like fighting so would I ever be a MMA fighter?" Hell no!

"Would small gloves be allowed to compete in a fight in a cage?" Yes. However, there is no grappling or grasping.

Fury, 33 years old, proposed Francis Ngannou (35-year-old UFC heavyweight champion) as his crossover opponent.

After beating Dillian Whyte (34), in April, the British boxing legend announced his retirement and said he would like to face Ngannou in a show.

Frank Warren, Fury's promoter, confirmed that he would not stop talks.

Warren stated, "All that I can do for him is to give him the benefit my advice."

"All I will ever say to him is what I think he should do, but I won't say 'you should'. I would not even try to go there.

"He is a smart individual. Whatever he decides to do, it will be for his benefit and the benefit of his family. That's how it should work."
