DONALD CERRONE, a UFC 274 fighter against Joe Lauzon, was forced to leave the ring with food poisoning hours before the battle of veterans.
Cowboy, the beloved cowboy, was scheduled to meet his fan favorite early Sunday morning at the curtain jerker in support of the main card for UFC 274 in Pheonix (Arizona).
Cowboy was forced to leave the battle of veterans because of food poisoning.
Cerrone entered his showdown against Lauzon in an effort to win his first since 2003.
A late bout with food poisoning means that the future hall of fame must wait a while to be able to win again.
Ariel Helwani first reported the news about Cerrone's withdrawal.
Joe Rogan, UFC commentator, confirmed the news shortly after the broadcast.

Rogan stated: "They believe that Donald ate something terrible."
He couldn't eat because he was throwing up. He felt terrible.
"They tried to give him some time to recover, but I spoke to Dr. Jeff Davidson and it wasn't going to happen."
It is not yet clear if the fight will be rescheduled.
Cerrone (39), hoped to end a seven-fight skid with Lauzon.
Six of the seven previous outings of Denver's destroyer have been lost. One of them was a 40 second annihilation by Conor McGregor in January 2020.
UFC President Dana White stated that he wanted the loser to call it quits prior to fight night.

He said this in a recent interview with The Underground: "That one who should lose probably packs it up, and rides off into sunset."
"That's what I would agree with."
