UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has launched a scathing attack on former MMA star Paige VanZant after she revealed that she made more money selling explicit content than she did from her fighting career.
From the Octagon to OnlyFans
After spending nearly six years in the top promotion of mixed martial arts, VanZant was cut from the UFC following a submission win in July 2020. She then turned to selling racy photos on OnlyFans and her own members-only website to supplement her income.
A Controversial Admission
VanZant recently admitted that her earnings from selling sexy photos surpassed her income from her entire UFC career. This revelation did not sit well with middleweight champion Sean Strickland, who launched a scathing attack on the former straw and flyweight contender.
Strickland's Blistering Attack
Strickland took to social media to address VanZant's earnings, stating, "Paige VanZant said she made more on OnlyFans in 24 hours than she did in the UFC. Let's unpack this. 1. You were signed because you're hot. 2. Women's MMA is lame. 3. Men will pay more to see you naked than to watch you fight. Stay in school kids, fighting sucks lol."

Backlash from the MMA Community
VanZant has yet to respond to Strickland's harsh criticism. However, his comments did not go unnoticed by the MMA community. Former UFC women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko called out Strickland, stating, "That looks more like an offended kid, who got less money in his entire fighter career than female fighters do! Good try, maybe UFC will see that and add some cash to your purse next time. But for now, naked is who you are."
A Controversial Figure
Strickland is no stranger to controversy. As a self-admitted former Neo-Nazi, he has faced criticism for his views and statements. In response to Shevchenko's comments, he launched another misogynistic rant, mocking her loss to Alex Grasso and belittling female MMA fighters.
The Road Ahead for Strickland
Despite the controversy surrounding him, Strickland claimed the middleweight title in September with a surprise decision win over Israel Adesanya. He is set to defend his title against Dricus du Plessis in the main event of UFC 297 in Toronto on January 20.
