Rodriguez threw 383 strikes with 186 landings, with 159 being considered significant. He also targeted the leg with kicks.

It took a toll on his right foot, which was severely bruised and blue.

Holloway, 29, and Rodriguez (both 29), were both taken to the hospital after their thriller. They even took a photo in an ambulance.

Holloway, a former champion, lost his title to Alexander Volkanovski on December 2019, and was unable to regain it in their July 2020 match.

The decision was hotly debated, with even the UFC president disagreeing.

Holloway, now 33, has won victories over Calvin Kattar and Rodriguez.

It puts him in a position to fight Volkanovski (33), in a three-fight series, despite the score being 0-2.

White stated: "It was one of those things, it was razor thin. (Holloway), just comes in and puts up a performance such as this.

Volkanovski will have to let him go and get it done again.

Conor McGregor, who was Holloway's 2013 star in Hawaii, has hinted at a rematch.

The 33-year-old Irishman is still recovering from the horrific leg injury he sustained against Dustin Poirier (32), in July.

McGregor's absence causing White to talk down the possibility of McGregor returning next year.

He stated that he didn't know what Max's future holds, but that it made sense to see Volkanovski and him again.

"Conor's not even- Conor's still hurt. It's silly to even speak about Conor.
