Talks with Professional Fighters League
Aaron Chalmers has put himself in line to be Jake Paul's first MMA opponent after engaging in talks with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). Chalmers, who left behind his days on Geordie Shore to pursue a career in MMA in 2017, has achieved a 5-2 record in the cage.
A Change of Focus for Jake Paul
Jake Paul, known for his success in the boxing ring, is now eyeing the world of MMA. Although scheduled to make his MMA debut in 2024, Paul recently faced American boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition match.

Chalmers' Proposal
During an event in the UK, Aaron Chalmers spoke with PFL Europe chief James Frewin about the possibility of welcoming Jake Paul to the MMA world. Chalmers proposed a two-fight deal that would see the celebrity pair competing in both the cage and the boxing ring.
Chalmers told SunSport, "It's kind of dried up at the moment because I was trying to double up and get a crossover, as in Jake in boxing and in MMA. He's obviously getting his way in boxing and I'm a bit more experienced in MMA. It would make sense for something like that and I would definitely go back to it."

He added, "There's a lot of hurdles to overcome, Jake's right up there in the mix, he's quite a big name. So I feel like a few wins under my belt in the next few months would hopefully push us back up that ladder."
Chalmers' Boxing Career
In 2022, Aaron Chalmers made the switch to boxing. In only his second bout, he went eight rounds with Floyd Mayweather in February. He is set to return to the ring on Saturday night, facing Irish MMA veteran Kiefer Crosbie at the 3Arena in Dublin. Crosbie, a training partner of Conor McGregor, is known for his intense fights, making this a highly anticipated match-up.
Chalmers stated, "That's what gets the blood pumping for me, because I know every fight Kiefer has it's a war. So that's what I'm prepared for. I know that's what it's going to be and I can probably say hand on heart it's going to be fight of the night by a long stretch."
