TEDDY ATLAS questions how Canelo Alvarez was able to gain so much weight in advance of his fight against Dmitry Bivol.
Alvarez, 31 years old, will fight Bivol in the light heavyweight division for the WBF World Title on May 7.
Teddy Atlas asked if Alvarez's bulking up was natural
Atlas feels that Bivol is taking a chance on Atlas after beating Caleb Plant to unify the belts at the middleweight level.
Atlas suggested Alvarez was not smaller than his Russian opponent, and suggested that his bulking up might be unnatural.
Atlas stated on THE FIGHT that he started out as a junior middleweight, and has since moved up.
"Junior middleweight, middleweight, light heavyweight. Back to middle. I don't see him dropping from light heavyweight. He is not that close to that man anymore.

"Whether it's natural or unnatural, I don't know (whether) it was from eating those burgers at that Mexican shop.
"Maybe they have special sauce for the Whoppers they sell over there? I don't know.
"Listen, people get mad about me but there is some truth to it. We know that he was tested positive for the stuff you shouldn't inject into your veins.
"I don’t know, maybe it wasn’t a great weight program of lifting weights, or maybe that’s all it was."

Alvarez claimed that the substance was found in his body after consuming contaminated meat. His promoters claim that it has "impacted dozens" of Mexican athletes over the past years.
Atlas believes Alvarez has the weight advantage now, even though he moved up a weight class.
He said, "Whatever it may be, he's no longer the smaller man." Stop claiming that 'he moved up to light-heavyweight and he beat an light heavyweight'.
He's a light-heavyweight. He's larger than any light heavyweight now legally, and he's much stronger.
He's thicker than you think. He's the stronger, bigger man in the group. He's bigger.
"This fight is for me, Canelo's first fight since his fight with GGG. I think there's a chance that his opponent could win - the one that he wins."
