TYSON FURY'struggled three miles' weeks before he was beaten by Deontay Wilder. John, his father, revealed.
The Gypsy King defeated the Bronze Bomber 11 times before finally securing a knockout.
Tyson Fury was unable to run three miles for four weeks prior to his Deontay wilder trilogy
John Fury, however, suggested that his son was far behind in his fitness prior to the fight night.
Tyson's sixth baby, Athena, brought on emotional turmoil for the family. She was born in August and was kept in intensive care at Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool.
Sky Sports reported that his father said: "I went with him to Alder Hey Hospital.
"I told him, "Look, you have to exercise. Just don't stay in here. Let's do a little run. You'll feel much better afterwards.
"I am 56 years old and weigh 20 stone. I beat him. He was on fire when we ran around Liverpool.
"I thought, "Look at that.' What was my lungs thinking? They couldn't be heard. He was unable to complete a three-mile run.
"He said afterward, 'That almost killed me'. So that's where we were at four weeks before that big night."
Fury, 33 years old, clearly put in a lot of work over the month leading to the Las Vegas showdown. He then headed out to America to complete his training camp.
He was all set to face his opponent for the third time on Saturday night.
Wilder was dropped by Fury in round three, but Fury hit the canvas twice more in the next round. He then stopped the fight in round 11 to keep his unbeaten record intact and retain the WBC heavyweight title.
Fury Sr. revealed how he kept Tyson motivated during the final stages of preparation. He used Anthony Joshua's defeat at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Oleksandr Uzyk to get Tyson fired up.
He said, "He was going do it anyway, so I said, 'OK then. I'll try and make the best out of a terrible job. He will be filled with confidence.
"But deep inside, I was concerned because I thought 'You're wrong. He shouldn't be doing that.'
Tyson wants to defend his country, knowing that Anthony Joshua lost his belts at home two miles away from his home.
He thought, "You know what? I can't be like that man. I have to do my thing and stand up for my country. It doesn't matter if you win, lose, or draw, it's all on!"
