ERROL SPENCE JR was a brilliant fighter after Floyd Mayweather called him a "b ****"" during a brutal sparring session.
Spence sparred the boxing legend for the first time in 2013 when he was just one year into his professional career after having participated in the 2012 Olympics.
Mayweather is well-known for his heated sparring sessions at his Las Vegas gym, the "doghouse".
Spence shared his memories on The Pivot podcast, "Once I got into there, everyone started hitting the mat.
They call it the doghouse. It just set off something in my head.
"It was almost like I had a competitive instinct that said, 'Oh, it's on now. We went for five to ten minutes each round."
However, the current champion at welterweight recalls that a sarcastic comment made by Mayweather ignited more intense rounds.
Spence said: "So, I get out my ring. He gets out his ring and says, You aight to a b***h.' I replied,?What? Spence revealed: "So I get out the ring, he gets out the ring and he says, 'You aight for a b***h.' I said, 'What?
"I told you, "Man, put your s*** on. Turn off the clock. We'll keep going until someone drops.
"Then, we got in there and sparred for about eight to nine more minutes, and then he was like, "Alright, that's enough."

After beating Conor McGregor 33, Mayweather, 35, retired from the UFC in 2017.
Spence, 32 years old, was the next holder of the welterweight crown as the reigning WBC and IBF champ.
This Saturday, the unbeaten Texan will face Yordenis Urgas, 35, who will defend his WBA title.
