CANELO ALEZ delivered a spectacular 11th-round knockout of Caleb Plant on Saturday - sparking talk of "who's next?"
The Mexican champion became the undisputed super-middleweight champion. He also reaffirmed his status as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
Canelo Alvarez was the undisputed champion of super-middleweight
Canelo is now the four-weight world champion, which means that there are many people he could face next.
His only defeat was against Floyd Mayweather in 2013. Canelo was a complete rookie at that time.
The 31-year old has been destroying all opposition since then, with a few gallant Brits in his wake.
SunSport examines five potential rivals for the Mexican sensation.
Gennadiy Golovkin
Canelo will be eager to complete his trilogy against Gennadiy Gorlovkin, especially since their fights were very contentious.
Canelo had a lucky draw in their 2017 first clash. US-based judges were critical of their scoring.
Although he was more successful in their second fight in 2018, there was still some disagreement when he claimed a majority victory.
Artur Beterbiev
This fight is most likely the most dangerous on the list.
Canelo might be interested in moving back up to light-heavyweight. He famously won a stunning KO victory against Sergey Kovalev.
Artur Beterbiev, a champion at weight, is the current unified champ with 16 victories and 16 KOs.
Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, was asked if they could fight. He replied: "It would have been a tremendous match."
"Beterbiev is unbeaten, he's a heavy, heavy puncher.
"He would pose a serious threat to Canelo’s legacy."
Jake Paul
For some reason YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul continues to angle for a fight against one of the greatest boxers ever.
Paul has won four of his pro fights to date - one against another YouTuber, one against an amateur baskeball player, and two against UFC fighters.
It would be absurd to try and scrape Canelo. The Meican hasn't even considered it.
FightHype asked him if he would ever meet the social media sensation. He replied that he didn't know and could never predict when. We will see what the future holds.
Canelo said that Paul, who will fight Tyson Fury's younger brother Tommy, would have to do "a lot of stuff" before they could fight.
Kamaru Usman
Kamaru Usman, UFC champ, has called previously for a cross-over fight against Canelo.
Although Usman is a powerful fighter, he would be an underdog against the Mexican boxer if they were to go at it in a ring.
Even UFC chief Dana White dismissed Usman's chances of beating Canelo.
He stated that he didn't want Canelo to fight him.
"C'mon man, let's stop this ***."!"
Zach Parker
Unbeaten Brit Zach Parker is WBO's No1 ranked fight for Canelo’s super-middleweight title.
Marcus Morrison was KO'd by the Derby boxer at the weekend, but Canelo has never fought anyone on Canelo's level.
Parker is a super-middleweight heavyweight who is also extremely confident in his boxing abilities.
Parker could be the next Brit to join Canelo's WBO - Parker would undoubtedly grab it with both his hands.
