TYSON FURY has one year to decide if he will be resigning his WBC heavyweight title or retiring.
The Gypsy King, 33 years old, insists that his Wembley KO by Dillian Whyte last October was his retirement victory.
The sanctioning body quickly acted, worried about the next huge-money sanctioning fees, and advised that he had only a week to make his decision.
However, boss Maurico Sulaiman now claims Fury still has up to a full year to make a decision on his future. They are far from deciding on a mandatory challenger to his crown.
Mexican President Juan Carlos Vargas said that they have one year before the next mandatory fight.
"At the moment, we will wait until Tyson Fury's decision and then we will either do some fights (a boxing tournament) or go into a final elimination.

"But at the moment we're going waiting because we don't have any specific circumstances."
Deontay Wilder was last seen in October, when Fury beat him.
British giant Joe Joyce is in a good place in the WBC rankings. If he faces Kiwi Joseph Park in July, the winner could be in with Wilder in order to determine the new mandatory challenger.
Fury can now enjoy his South of France vacation with his wife Paris, and consider a undisputed decider with Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua's possible rematch for WBA, IBF, and WBO crowns.

"I don't like to speculate. I'd rather wait for him to enjoy his holiday.
"The WBC will support him regardless of his decision.
We will support him if he decides to put down the gloves and enjoy life, be a successful father, and have a bright future.
"If he chooses to keep fighting, we will support his efforts."
