Joshua Buatsi and Anthony Yarde have reached a verbal agreement to face each other in a highly anticipated fight next year, thanks to rapper Stormzy's help. The London light-heavyweight duo have been on a collision course since bursting onto the scene.
Secret Agreement at Stormzy's Party
After Yarde's recent victory, he publicly called out Buatsi, who will put their friendship aside on October 21 as he faces Dan Azeez. But unbeknownst to the public, the two fighters had already made a secret agreement to fight in 2024 during Stormzy's birthday celebration.
Buatsi revealed, "We were both invited and we were talking and that's when we mentioned it as well... But a couple of days later, I see an interview where his energy was a bit different."
Boxers Taking Matters into Their Own Hands
The recent example of Americans Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford calling each other up to negotiate their super-fight caught Buatsi's attention. He acknowledged the importance of boxers taking matters into their own hands to make fights happen.

Yarde's World Title Attempts
Yarde, who has failed twice in his world title attempts, including a brutal war with Artur Beterbiev, is hoping to secure a domestic detour against the Buatsi-Azeez winner. But Buatsi remains focused on his upcoming fight with Azeez and stated, "What Yarde is saying I don't really care about... But of course, it's a fight that people are interested in, a fight that people want to see happen, and a fight I'd like to have myself."
Next in Line for Dmitry Bivol's WBA Belt
Buatsi's priority is earning a shot at Dmitry Bivol's WBA belt, and a win over Azeez at the O2 Arena could put him next in line for the title. However, the potential clash with Yarde has generated significant interest and excitement among fans.
Stay tuned for updates on this highly anticipated British blockbuster showdown between Buatsi and Yarde.
