After talks with YouTubers 30 years his junior, Mike Tyson, 55 walks away from Jake Paul fight

MIKE TYSON has officially quit a money-spinning battle with Jake Paul.

SunSport announced last month that the former world champion, 55, was in advanced negotiations to fight Paul, 25, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

They were expected to bring home a combined PS36million.

Sun Online has learned that Tyson turned his back on the deal after the numbers did not add up.

Sources close to the former "Badest Man on the Planet" said that Mike did not want to return to full-scale training at the level the world expected, unless he believed the money was right.

"But what looked like a great idea at the beginning of the year is no longer a top priority."

Secretly, Tyson's and Paul's representatives had been devising plans for the pay-per-view bout. It is expected to take place later in the year with a potential win of PS36million ($50million).

Sun Online was informed by Tyson's business associate that Tyson had made a significant change in the last few weeks. Although he was there to see Jake in Vegas for an exhibition bout, word has it that the deal is not what he had hoped for.

Tyson isn't interested in putting his body through the same grueling training sessions that he underwent before his win against Roy Jones Jr.

According to the source, "It's not about Jake not being physically dominant. But rather his lifestyle isn't conducive to training at the level required."

"Mike has a lot more going on in his business life than just the growing marijuana empire.
"And at the moment in time, the maths don’t add up."

Tyson, through his Tyson Holistic brand, has been building an empire in cannabis since 2016.

His business, which sells premium marijuana strains, edibles, and extracts, is estimated to bring in around PS500,000 per monthly.

"Iron Mike" is also building a resort on 418 acres that specializes in weed. He hopes it will host a music festival rivaling Coachella and the longest lazy river in the world.

A Tyson University will also be located on the site, which will offer tips and tricks for cannabis cultivation to wannabe farmers.

Tyson has played down recent reports that he had spoken with Paul's team.

Iron Mike has left the negotiations to face The Problem Child.

Source added, "There is one significant aspect in all of this for Mike. He doesn't want or need to fight for Jake's image.

Tyson suggested that he was preparing to fight in Spring when he attended the unveiling at Mulberry Street Pizzeria in Las Vegas of a metal statue.

Tyson added fuel to the rumours that Jake, or Logan, could be his next opponent by admitting: "I will have a fight in February and I am pretty skeptical about who it is but it will be a really stimulating adversary."

In November 2020, Tyson, the undisputed heavyweight champion, returned to the ring for an exhibition fight with Jones Jr.

Tyson brought back the past as he fought the former world champion at four weight to a draw.

Tyson had hoped that he would be able to make a comeback to the squared circle in September last year to face his old rival Lennox Lewis.

However, 15 months after his triumphant return in the ring, The Baddest Man On the Planet seems to be reluctant to put on his gloves once again.

Recently, he admitted that he wasn't interested in this work. It was fun at the beginning.

Mike Tyson seems not to be interested in fighting again

"If it was back in my first start, yes. If we were fighting on the same cards and both active, then we could do it.

"But, it just changed...it just turned bad. It didn't end in its favor.

"I did it for fun the first time, but then people made it financially and it was no fun anymore."

Paul, a YouTuber and boxer, has not been in the ring since Tyron Woodley's viral knockout last December.

The Problem Child, however, is currently promoting Amanda Serrano’s eagerly-anticipated clash against Katie Taylor and is apparently eyeing a September return.

During a recent appearance at The MMA Hour, she said that "There's a lot happening in other aspects"

"I will be doing these press conferences in the next two weeks to promote Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. I am also very busy with my venture capital fund on the business side.

Jake Paul plans to return to the ring in September

"So, I have not even been back to the gym or trained at all.

"I would suggest August-September, but I need to talk with my coaches. Perhaps later. It's something I'm working on.

"Obviously, if the stars align or I have a change in heart, then things could move around. But right now, I don't feel motivated to go back to another training camp."
