After the bizarre 2016 fight that was canceled over a photograph, Eubank Jr. wants to face Golovkin at Brighton’s Amex Stadium.

CHRIS EUBANK JR already sees himself facing Gennady Gorlovkin at Brighton’s Amex Stadium.

He would win it years later, after being denied the opportunity to fight the middleweight legend by his father who wanted a portrait of Barry Hearn.

Eubank Jr will be back in the ring against German Sven Elbir on October 2, and Eubank Jr will debut as Sky Sports Boxing's new face.

However, if he wins, Kalle Sauerland, the promoter of the fight has promised a huge pay-per view fight at the year's end.

Eubank Jr. has also set a summer date and called to invite GGG, a stone-cold puncher, to Brighton.

He stated that he was told he wanted to fight again in the UK. That's a great stadium filler.

"It would be amazing to get a fight at the Amex in Brighton. I have always wanted to fight there.

"We have to do it." You have to do it."

Eubank Jr., 31 years old, was interested in fighting Golovkin (39), in 2016.

Negotiations were abruptly stopped by Kell Brook, 35. He moved up from welterweight and took on Triple-G.

Brook was defeated in five rounds before his Sheffield faithful. Eubank Jr was accused by the Sheffield faithful of trying to evade the Kazakh danger man.

This was true until Eddie Hearn, promoter of the fight revealed the astonishing reason it ended.

Eubank Sr. had requested a photo from Hearn’s dad's office of him fighting Nigel Benn during one of their classics.

Barry, who had previously promoted Sr, refused to give Jr the portrait. His eccentric father pulled Jr out of going up against Golovkin.

Eubank Jr was shocked by the story and is now ready to make amends and avoid regretting missing out on the career-defining night at GGG.

He stated that he was looking at Eddie Hearn's video, and he said that the reason the fight failed was because his old man demanded a picture or painting from Matchroom Headquarters.

"And that was the last straw, or something. They said, No' and that was that. It was a shocking story that blew my mind the first time it was told.

"But, he's at minimum come out and said it wasn't him who stopped the fight happening, I was ready, signed, I was willing to go.

"But yeah, that must be rectified, that fight must be made, there are too many people who wanted to see it. So hopefully we can get it done in the next six-12 month."

Golovkin will fight Ryota Murata, a Japanese superstar, to unify their IBF/WBA belts.

"BIG FIGHTS and BIG TITLES"

This could mean Eubank Jr. waiting for the winner, and facing either Billy Joe Saunders (31), or Liam Willaims (29).

GGG is still his No1 target but he has made it possible to please supporters by becoming a domestic barnburner even without a title.

Eubank Jr. explained that Golovkin is not an easy fighter to pin down. He fights whenever and wherever he wants.

"I'm open for all options, I have a few years left so that I can be active, I want fan-friendly fights to continue.

Is it necessary to have a belt? Although I would love to see a belt on the line, it is becoming a reality that you don't need them to fight big fights.

"And there are some of them out there for me. Beautiful, but we need both.
