AJ stunned fans by announcing earlier this week that his next fight will not be until December.

That is despite earlier indicating that he wanted to get straight back in the ring to build momentum after the victory over Franklin.

Joshua admitted the situation was “not ideal”.

Fans have been speculating over who the fighter’s next opponent might be.

Promoter Eddie Hearn hinted that Dillian Whyte is most likely as he discussed AJ’s future.

He told Chris Mannix: “I think that’s the frontrunner. I quite like the Otto Wallin fight, really, but he’s a southpaw.

“So if a deal can be reached with Dillian Whyte, then I think that would be a smart fight for both.”
