Wladimir Klitschko, a former foe, has encouraged his old foe to rebound from the latest loss

Wladimir Klitschko, the former opponent of the Watford warrior, believes he can still rule the heavyweight division for many years to come.

Sky Sports' Dr Steelhammer said: "We have seen AJ tested.

"I can remember what happened." In the 13 months between 2003 and 2004, I lost two fights.

To bounce back? To become one of the longest-reigning champions.

"AJ can have his time absolutely. It's all about how you overcome the challenge.

Slick southpaw Usyk gave AJ a technical masterclass in enemy territory, baffling him with his footwork.

Klitschko was overwhelmed by the performance of his countryman, and said: "Usyk made History."

"Since 2012 I have watched Usyk win his gold, and I also watched AJ win his gold.

"Usyk is undefeated for so long, winning all titles as a cruiserweight fighter and now as a heavyweight.

"This man is special."

Joshua, 31 years old, has exercised his right to rematch and is expected back in February or March with his rivalry against the undisputed cruiserweight king.

The Olympic gold medalist admits that he used the wrong strategy for his title defense. He said: "I have watched the fight, analysed and identified my errors.

"I've learnt my lesson. Do not worry about me. My spirit is strong!"

Joshua believes he can beat Usyk the second time around. He said: "Just being quick learners." Understanding the difference between the positive and the negative.

"If you view it from a negative perspective, you won't have the mindset of making a difference.

But if you see it from a positive perspective, you will realize that I lost.

"But that's not a lesson. That's a blessing. It can be used as fuel to improve my life.

"And use it to right my wrongs." You will only get better from there.

"So, I'm not going to hold myself back from the mistake that I made. I'm only going to lift myself up and say, "Actually, what do you know? It was a hard fight.

"But from that fight I'm going to go away, get out my notepad and find ways of improving."
