He lost to Wallin in the fight, but Fury was guaranteed a shot at Fury’s WBC crown.

The sanctioning body has seen evidence of his injury and is poised to call Whyte (33), to fight Fury (33) instead of rescheduling Wallin (30).

Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, told talkSPORT that Fury vs Wilder winner has one month to attempt to unify against Usyk who defeated Joshua.

"If they are not capable of doing so, then the WBC would adopt a mandatory, which is an interim champion.

"The British Boxing Board of Control has given us the medical certificate that Whyte cannot fight Wallin due to the injury.

"So, we will do what we promised. That is the way we are moving forward."

Fury's belt requires Whyte to have his WBC interim title, which was the one he was supposed to defend against Wallin.

The British contender has waited almost four years to get his chance at the title. Eddie Hearn, the promoter of the event, hopes for a crowd-pleasing performance in the UK next year.

Hearn stated on DAZN that he would see the fight, and that he would push for it in a big arena in spring. I believe that we will see that next.

"I believe it's been four to five years since Tyson Fury fought in England. He should return and box in England. He's done incredible for English and British boxing and will get a great welcome."

"Dillian is a popular. It is a war. It is a war. He has waited for this fight for a while. The fight will fill a stadium with a large audience.

"It's high time for Dillian Whyte to be considered for the world heavyweight title."
