From Premier League to the Boxing Ring

Amazon Prime has made a strategic move by securing a deal to broadcast boxing events after relinquishing the rights to Premier League matches. The streaming service has decided to shift its focus from English top-flight football to the world of boxing in the upcoming 2025-29 cycle.

A New Partnership with Premier Boxing Champions

Teaming up with Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), Amazon Prime Video will now bring boxing to its subscribers. PBC, founded by former manager Al Haymon in 2015, represents a roster of renowned boxers including Floyd Mayweather Jr, Deontay Wilder, Manny Pacquiao, Errol Spence Jr, and the Charlo brothers. This collaboration marks the end of US broadcaster Showtime's 37-year involvement in boxing.

Multiyear Rights Agreement

A multiyear rights agreement has been reached between Amazon Prime Video and PBC. As part of this agreement, Prime Video will distribute PBC's pay-per-view events in the US. The first event is set to take place in March 2024. Additionally, Prime Video will exclusively stream a PBC Championship Boxing series of events in the US and select countries.

More than Just Live Events

Prime Video's commitment to sports content goes beyond live events. In addition to broadcasting boxing matches, Prime Video will continue to produce original sports content. Subscribers can look forward to docuseries, live weigh-ins, and on-demand access to previous events, highlights, and archival footage.

Boxing fans and Prime Video subscribers are in for a knockout combination as Amazon Prime makes its mark in the world of sports entertainment.
