It's no secret that Tyson Fury is a heavyweight champion with a massive fan base. But there's one person who has never watched any of his matches - his own mother, Amber Fury.
Who is Amber Fury?
Amber Fury is John Fury's first wife and the mother of heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury. Unlike her famous family, Amber has stayed completely out of the spotlight, with no photos of her available to the public.
Amber has also never attended any of her son's fights. Tyson Fury revealed in an interview that her only concern is his well-being and happiness, not his world heavyweight titles. She remains uninterested in his boxing career.
Fury told the Telegraph, "My mam doesn't care if I'm world champion or not, as long as I'm healthy and happy. You could give my mother that table full of £50 notes and diamonds and it wouldn't change who she is, ever."
In his memoir, Behind The Mask, Tyson Fury also shared that his mother is not fully aware of his superstardom. He recounted a shopping trip after his 2018 draw with Deontay Wilder, where fans approached him for pictures. His mother was puzzled by this attention, asking him, "Hey, son, how do you know so many people?" Tyson had to explain to her that he was the heavyweight champion of the world.
Amber's Family
Amber Fury had four children during her marriage to John Fury. In addition to Tyson, they had two more sons named Shane and Hugh. Tragically, their daughter Ramona passed away a few months after birth.
After their split, John Fury remarried and had two more sons with his second wife, Chantal. One of their sons is Tommy Fury, who gained fame as a contestant on Love Island and is also a professional boxer.
John Fury: The Patriarch
John Fury, also known as "Gypsy John," was born in Tuam, Galway, Ireland, into a family of Irish Traveller heritage. He is a former professional boxer and bare-knuckle fighter, and he is the patriarch of the Fury family.
John Fury had a boxing career that lasted from 1987 to 1995, with 13 bouts in total. His fighting spirit and love for the sport have been passed down to his sons, who have become boxing champions in their own right.
