AMIR Khan says he has a lot of injuries and niggles in the lead up to his grudge match with Kell Brook.
The two former champions at welterweight will go to war in Manchester on Feb 19, ten years after the original talk of the showdown.
Amir Khan will finally face Kell Brook in Manchester on February 19,
The pair have been involved in many verbal spats since then, and although both men are now past their prime, British fans still look forward to seeing them in the ring.
Khan, 35, is currently training in Colorado for the fight. Sky Sports has seen how he pushes himself to overcome the barriers to prepare for it.
He stated, "All of us have injuries, both sportsmen and ladies."
"When we reach the elite level, it is necessary to overcome our pains and triumph over them.
"Yeah, I have pains and injuries when I am in training.
"I had to spar today, and I still have to recover from the injuries. I can't even think about them. I just need to get on with it.
"My job is to prepare for February 19, and naturally the aches, pains and discomforts are there."
Khan said, "As you age - I'm now 35 - it's no different when you're 25, where you can recover from a difficult session.
"While it takes some time for the body to adjust, it's a good thing because I know that if I keep pushing myself with these pains and aches, I'll be fine come fight day."
Khan's last fight took place in Saudi Arabia in 2019, when he stopped Billy Dib.
This was three months after Crawford stopped him in New York. The Bolton-born boxer later claimed that he had sustained an elbow injury at camp which affected his performance.
Brook was last seen in action in Las Vegas over a year ago, when he was also defeated in the WBO welterweight title bout by Crawford.
This was his third loss in 42 fights with Special K, which also saw defeat to Errol Spence Jr. and Gennady Gorlovkin.
