Amir Khan, a British boxing legend, says he lost a friend after publicly accusing Anthony Joshua of having an affair.
Khan, 35, claimed that Faryal Makhdoom (31), was having an affair and the couple were divorcing in a series bombshell tweets.
Amir Khan admitted that he hasn’t spoken to Anthony Joshua in the past two years since accusing him with an affair with his wife.
Khan and Faryal are married since 2013.
Khan had announced that the couple were divorcing, but they later reconciled.
They reconciled later, and AJ has always denied all allegations against him.
Khan, a former world champion, has spoken out to express regret at the way he called Joshua out.
Joshua, a Bolton-born star, admitted that he and Joshua had "never spoken" since the accusations.
Khan spoke out about the incident at Gary Neville's The Overlap. He said: "I had the issue with Anthony Joshua, which I feel really sorry for because at the conclusion of the day, I put him in firing line for absolutely no reason.
"He was a friend of mine, and we have never spoken since. That was how I lost a friend.
Khan answered "Yes" when Khan was asked if he still felt the need to speak with AJ. Khan said that AJ did nothing wrong, and that he was just being a good guy.
Khan claimed that Faryal and his wife of nine years were "not speaking" at the time of the 2017 accusations.
He explained the situation by saying: "So my wife - me, her, were not talking – and she sent me a message saying 'look at so many fighters messaging you'.
"And she showed me a message from Anthony Joshua saying hi or something, and I lost it.
"I said "Who the hell is he?" and said hi to my wife, even though he was cool.
Khan said that "nothing ever occurred" between Joshua Faryal and Faryal. Khan has three children with Faryal - Lamaisah, Alayna, and Muhammad.
On AJ, he said: "Maybe he was just respectful, all he did was to be respectful. It never happened.
"I just flipped out at everyone. All my friends were like, "Are you crazy, you just tweeted something?"
"But he is a nice man. I was even called by his friends. I said, "no, don’t want to speak to you guys."
Khan expressed regret at his selfishness and said: Khan said that he made a lot of mistakes when he first started to make them.
"I began to turn nasty, becoming a terrible person." It wasn't me, and I wasn't happy doing this to myself.
Khan used social media in 2017 to accuse his wife of an affair.
He wrote, "Lol moved up the weight classes lol. Trust me, I'm not jealous. You don't need to send me photos of the men you are talking to #Disgusted.
He wrote, "Left my friends and family for this Faryal." I'm not hurt, but another fighter. It's all public. You are getting divorced #Golddigger
One said, "Mans like Joshua can eat my leftovers!"
Khan quit boxing in the wake of defeat to British rival Kell Brook.
Joshua will be back in action on December 3rd against Tyson Fury.
This morning, the 32-year old confirmed that he has AGREED terms to the Gypsy King in order to stage a blockbuster showdown.
