It's unfortunate that it happens five years after their great primes, but one of the former world champs will be leaving the sport with the bragging right.

Khan, a former light-welter king, spent nearly a decade discrediting Brook and insisting that he was not on the same level as the Ingle-gym prodigy.

Both men are rapidly approaching retirement and a deal was made to allow them to fight for one more pension day.

Sky Sports has agreed to host the straightener, after Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn (now chief promoter of streaming app DAZN) said that the two rivals were asking too much money.

One time, the battle would have been at the top of a packed football stadium during a hot English summer.

However, both men are fighting in winter and a modest Valentine's Day was planned indoors.

Brook, a former IBF welterweight champion and arguably Britain's greatest fighter of the era, was beaten by Errol Spence and Gennady Gorlovin in 2016. He suffered life-threatening facial fractures.

Terence Crawford completely overpowered the steel city ace, resulting in his third career loss.

Khan was also stopped in 2019 by Crawford, after he had rebuilt his life following the 2016 chilling knockout loss against Canelo alvarez.

For either man to win, you have to go back as far as 2015

This last swansong could determine their reputations and legacy.
