They have been trying to settle the score with a final grudge match, now that both are approaching retirement.
Brook, 35, claimed that he signed his half of the fight deal. Khan, 34 however, disagreed and provided an update on the negotiations.
TalkSPORT was informed by him that contracts are still being negotiated.
"Hopefully, something is finalized this week."
Both agents are contractually free and have been negotiating directly with one another, pitching it at different TV networks and promoters.
Brook said that he would wait for Khan's signature before completing 'the largest fight in British boxing'.

"I have signed my fight. He just needs to sign his. Then we can have the biggest fight in British boxing."
"We have signed our part. We don't have to be secretive about it, but we do need to. There are whispers, this and that.
"Everybody is aware that this fight must be fought."
Brook has not fought since he was relegated to welterweight in November 2020. He lost to Terence Crawford (34), unbeaten WBO champion.
Crawford beat Khan in 2019, who then won against Billy Dib (36), in Saudi Arabia.
Although the British boxing legend is not fighting since then, he recently announced that he would be switching to Crawford's trainer Brian Bomac Mcintyre in Omaha.
