Andy Ruiz Jr admitted that he was shocked by Joshua's approach to the mysterious Usyk

The Watford fighter stunned fight fans around the globe with his decision to box Usyk, a fleet-footed and mysterious opponent.

Fight Hype was told by him: "It surprised my because when I did an ESPN interview, I thought Anthony would be the stronger man. I thought he was going fight me around and use my abilities."

"He [Joshua] just stood there. He wasn't moving around or doing the same thing as me in the second fight.

He ran around to make certain he wasn't hit and, if he was, he would grab the object and move about. He had a plan. However, he didn't win the fight with Usyk.

It's insane because I thought Anthony Joshua would beat Usyk. It's going be a 50-50 fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, I'm sure.

"That's going be an exciting fight. "I'm going to be there."

Rob McCracken, Joshua's coach, has borne most of the blame. This could have prevented a blockbuster Fury showdown.

Ruiz says that Team GB Boxing's coach should not be subject to all the criticism.

He said, "You can't fault everyone. Each fighter must take responsibility for their actions.

"It was probably a wrong strategy, and he [Joshua] likely underestimated him as I did with Chris Arreola.

"But we were both caught, but thank God I pursued and won the W. I believe Anthony Joshua is still there, and still strong."

Ruiz, who won a thrilling upset win over AJ in New York two year ago, believes that Usyk's slick movements scared him.

The Destroyer stated that he felt afraid and was holding back just a bit.

"Maybe it was Usyk's lefty style and his movements.

"I thought they could have done better. But congratulations to Usyk.

"There are many more options and we can switch up to have different opponents.

Joshua, 31 years old, activated his rematch clause. He has also vowed that he will learn from his mistakes against fellow Olympian.

He stated, "I have watched the fight and analysed my preparations. I've identified my errors."

"I've learnt my lesson. Do not worry about me. My spirit is strong!"
