Although the Bronze Bomber hasn’t been in the ring since Tyson Fury’s brutal 11th-round knockout last October, he is determined to fight again.

Ruiz is currently preparing for a showdown against veteran Luis Ortiz

Ruiz Jr, a former champion in unified heavyweight, is eager to have a friendly with Ortiz.

Boxing Scene was told by Wilder: "[Wilder] was kinda saying that he didn’t want to, but makes more outside the ring than within the ring.

"That was a sign that he doesn’t really want to. He's not wrong.

He was a tireless worker and a dedicated person over the years. He was a champion and accomplished so much.

"I don't blame him. He wants to live a happy life, not get hurt. He did it before. It's not hard to work, but we all do it.

He did all the hard work. But I did it too. We own houses and we make money each month.

Ruiz Jr., 32, refuses to overlook the older statement of the division Ortiz, but is already planning a California clash against Wilder.

Fight Hub TV interviewed him and said: "The heavyweight division has so many options right now.

"I just need to win this first fight against Luis Ortiz. It's a tough opponent, but I would love the opportunity to fight Wilder, if he retires.

"I don’t know if he mentioned he would come out of retirement but I would love the fight with him.

"We are both under PBC/Al Haymon and that fight would not be difficult to win. Perhaps right here at Staples.

Wilder, 36, stated earlier this year that he will be returning to the ring. I must, I must.

"I am looking to resume my career. There are many other things that I need to do.

"I'm taking my children away if they come back, because now my life is full of joy like I want.

"I have sacrificed so much in order to be in this place in my life. To be able live my life the way I want it to for the rest of their lives."

He said, "I've been highly sought after. Many people have said to me, "Come back, please." I would say that I am back because of popular demand.

"And the boxing business needs me. There's nothing quite like a thriving American champion.

"When there isn't, you can see that it's dead. It's drought in the sport. The difference is now well-known."
