ANDY RUIZ JR will be back in action on August 13th in Los Angeles against Luis Ortiz.
Since May 2012, when Chris Arreola defeated him in May, the Mexican-American has not been active.
Anthony Joshua's ex-conqueror was able to survive being knocked to the ground by Arreola, before winning on points.
The ex-heavyweight champion, who was slimmer than he used to be, had hoped for a good run in the division but was thwarted when he sustained an injury.
Ruiz Jr., 32, had to have knee surgery after his victory over Arreola.
In a bout that could have major title implications, he will face southpaw Ortiz at Crypto.com Arena.
