Eddie Hearn reports that ANDY RUIZ JR declined the opportunity to face Derek Chisora and instead chose to fight Luis Ortiz.
The former champion of unified heavyweight returned to the ring last January for the first time since his loss to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia.
Andy Ruiz Jr. has only fought once since his dethronement of Anthony Joshua almost three years ago
Ruiz, 32 years old, is eager to get back at it. This was the reason Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn approached Ruiz's management to discuss the Chisora fight.
Hearn says that the opportunity to meet with Del Boy was turned down.
Michael Benson, a boxing journalist, tweeted: "Told Eddie Hearn he expects Andy Ruiz Jr. vs Luis Ortiz - this impression he's received following talks with Luis DeCubas (who collaborates with Al Haymon), in which he attempted to make Ruiz Jr. vs Derek Chisora."
Hearn, 42 years old, will not give up his pursuit for the Ruiz Chisora fight, despite the fact that the Mexican and his team seem to be uninterested.
