Andy Ruiz Jr. will soon announce his ring return as he targets Tyson Fury's showdown.
Three years ago, Anthony Joshua's streak of undefeated was ended by Andy Ruiz Jr.

The Destroyer said it was only a matter time before he wore his boxing gloves once again, as his next fight "coming soon".

Ruiz Jr tweeted "Happy New Year, excited to get back into the ring this year." Fight date coming soon."

This is after Fury's US-based promoter Bob Arum confirmed recently that Fury could be his next opponent.

Arum asserts that Robert Helenius, 32, and Arum are the two "principal" choices for the Gypsy King.

According to him, he recently stated that Frank Warren and I were looking for another opponent to fight Fury in Manchester or Las Vegas. It all depends on the opponent.

"So, we're considering Andy Ruiz as an option. He's available.

"This big Finnish kid looked great on the semi-windup on Fury – Wilder card, Helenius. He is a big, strong Finnish kid who can fight.

"Those are the principal men. If it's Helenius, it takes place in the UK. If it's Ruiz we take it to Las Vegas.

Ruiz Jr posted a screenshot of Arum's quotes to Instagram and said: "Let’s go, I need that WBC."

Fury and the former champion of unified heavyweight shared a photo, before asking Arum's promotion for a solution.

Ruiz Jr. added: "Top Rank let’s go."
