ANTHONY JOSHUA has accepted Tyson Fury’s offer to host their British blockbuster showdown.
Joshua received a surprise call from Fury. Fury isn't willing to wait for Oleksandr Usyk's return next year.
Anthony Joshua agreed to face Tyson Fury in this year's TAG0
AJ was offered a 40% split of the record-breaking UK purse.
Initially, Joshua suggested a date for November but he cannot return until December.
Fury also desires a rematch clause. AJ's team is happy to comply as long as they receive the lionshare if they win.
After talks with Frank Warren's son George, Eddie Hearn, his promoter, confirmed that they were willing to accept the deal.
He said to iFL TV, "We just returned this morning and we spoke to AJ about the offer. We think, we think, he especially deserves more than 40%.
"But, he's happy. He makes the decisions. I don't make them. I returned this morning to say, "We accept 60/40".
"We want this reversed in the Rematch, and rightfully so, because you're champion, you want the larger split which I believe is fair.
"And we want the fight to be in December. They have Queensberry, who was held at the Millennium on November 17th. That's amazing.
Fury wanted to fight WBA champion Oleksandr Usyk. He defeated Joshua twice within 11 months.
It would have been the first undisputed heavyweight title decider at four belts.
After the Ukrainian hero returned home to his war-torn family and home, Usyk decided not to return until next year.
Fury doesn't want to wait and wants to be back by the end the year. He therefore focused his attention on Joshua.
Hearn said that negotiations are ongoing regarding the rights to pay-per view.
Fury is a BT Boxer, while Joshua's new long-term agreement with DAZN sports streaming service is about to start.
DAZN has launched a box-office platform that makes it possible to host a rare duel in PPV.
