ANTHONY JOSHUA confirmed that he is willing to fight Deontay wilder next year.
After invoking his clause for a rematch with the Ukrainian, the Brit will face Oleksandr Usyk again in spring.
Anthony Joshua is optimistic about 2022
Last month, AJ lost his belts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to the wily ex-cruiserweight king.
He is looking at possible matchups beyond Usyk.
Joshua answered IFL TV's question about his future. He said, "If the fans don't see, I would take these fights alongside fighters like Wilder in my heartbeat."
"I want people to know that I would defeat anyone in their prime, or at any time.
"Give me a mandatory, and I will fight anybody. I love the game and will fight any person.
"I'm willing to take on any challenge provided politics aren’t an issue and that the finances are available with these guys. People know what I stand for.
"I believe Wilder thought Tyson (Fury) was going to be an easier fight than his previous fights, and was caught in a triangular web.
"But would you fight Wilder?"
Shelly Finkel, Wilder's manager, exclusively told SunSport that her client would be interested to face AJ when he was asked about the motivations for the Bronze Bomber.
He stated, "My gut tells me the big fights." He said that although it's not on his drawing board right now, he would love Fury to return.
"But it's still early so we need to get through Joshua and Usyk, and look at a few other options.
"It's a huge fight [Wilder against Joshua], regardless of what happens in Joshua - Usyk fight.
"And I don't think that Usyk will be able deal with Fury's size, even with all his skills."
After suffering a terrible injury against the Gypsy King, Wilder's famed right hand was taken to surgery.
Finkel said that Deontay had broken his right hand below the third knuckle. He will need to get it fixed next week.
He needs surgery. The knuckle is fine, but it's the bone that broke the knuckle. Although he is sore, he was fine and he was home yesterday.
