The 31-year old appears to already have a retirement plan for when his boxing career ends.

He joked with the Daily Mail: "Once you've done your boxing, everything is deactivated." I will never be seen again. Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk -- we're going to Mars, baby!

"When I'm done, I will go to the Amazon with an unknown tribe and then just relax. Frog venom, plants eating, all of it."

AJ said, "Many of us fighters came in the game with aspirations. Maybe to buy their mothers a home. We fought men and they are now stuck in this business." It's hard.

"I didn't think I would be able to grow into this position. Because it comes with pressure, and I honestly never desired fame or attention, I was completely dedicated to the sport.

Joshua was a star after he won gold at London 2012, and has been in the spotlight ever since.

AJ seems to have been overwhelmed by the hysteria around his match-up with Tyson Fury. He just wants to focus on fighting.

"If I could only focus on the sport, it would be a long time. It is the distractions that come with it that can make people turn away. Fame, fortune, and attention can be a blessing but also a curse.

"As I stated, if it's just boxing, let us go as long we can. But everything else that comes along with it, that's why some people just want the freedom to get away from that world when it all ends and return to their original entrance.

Boxers are pure. We were just trying to improve ourselves, and became addicted to the sport of boxing.

"Then it was about being a role model and standing up for certain issues. We make mistakes, but we get things right. It's a fascinating time to be a professional sportsman.

"I entered the sport for the love of it. It was pure. You always want to go back to the original reason you started boxing, that pure element that made me want to fight. I want to fight.

AJ said that he was open to a fight with Fury and added that he knew what the boxing political community thought, but that he would promise him that he will fight Tyson Fury before the end his career.

"Me and Fury are streets, two warriors and two fighters who came from the amateur system of the UK and have taken over the world.
