ANTHONY JOSHUA was urged once more to abstain from a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk in order to let Tyson Fury fight for the undisputed title.
Joshua lost the WBA, IBF, and WBO belts to Usyk in September. He had fallen prey to a 12-round masterclass.
Anthony Joshua will rematch Oleksandr Uzyk next year
The defiant former champion of two has already invoked his right to an immediate match next year.
This means that any hopes of Fury combining his WBC title and Usyk are now dead, much to the dismay of his promoter Arum.
He said to ESNEWS, "I think it would probably be wise not to force a fight against Usyk right now and let Usyk face Tyson Fury and allow the winner to fight Joshua. To have an interim fight in between, we will need to use the winner to fight Joshua.
"That's what my hope is and that's the sensible thing. Joshua is the only one who can decide if it turns out this way.
"F*** Eddie Hearn. He doesn't have anything to say. He spits his mouth.
Joshua will make the decision, Joshua will make it, and Joshua will decide what decision is right for him."
Fury, 33 years old, will now be fighting Dillian Whyte (33) as the WBC mandatory challenger.
Joshua, 32, is currently attempting to reclaim his capital throne with a rematch against Usyk (34). This match is expected to take place before April 30th.
The winner could then go on to a title decider against Fury or Whyte.
Joshua is currently looking for new coaches in America to add to his training staff.
