Joshua fired Rob McCracken, his long-time friend and trainer, following the humiliating points loss to Usyk in September.
Salita however believes that the skills of the former unified heavyweight champion have been in decline over the last FIVE years.
He stated that AJ is a great fighter who did many amazing things throughout his career. But it was when he defeated [Wladimir] Klotschko that was his peak.
"And then he started slipping down just a little bit each fight.
"AJ was supposed to fight Jarrell Miller, but he fought Ruiz. He's been going down ever since."
"Even though he won against Pulev, he looked OK. But he didn't look as good or as old AJ."
Joshua attempted to outbox Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight king in their Tottenham tussle, but was unsuccessful.

He has vowed to not make the same mistake as the desert dust-up and said: "The goal is to get back to basics and to go for the knockout.
"I feel that when I fight or spar with people, their spirit is actually dampened."
"Honestly, if you look at someone directly in their eyes, and watch their body closely, you can see how they are slowly losing their strength.
"Now, when you boxing, the art is to hit and not get hurt. You're better off boxing to stay away. This is not my style.
