ANTHONY JOSHUA was pictured with Jermell Charlo and Jarmall Charlo, as well as Ronnie Shields, a boxing trainer.
After Joshua Buatsi and Canelo Alvarez teamed up, Shields is now AJ's latest coach.
Joshua visited Virgil Hunter’s Los Angeles gym in order to meet Buatsi (light-heavyweight), who he manages.
He was captured by Canelo at Canelo’s US training base in San Diego. There he was trained by Eddy Reynoso, a highly respected trainer.
Joshua, now wearing training gear and his hands wrapped, took a photo with coach Shields and the Charlo brothers in Houston, Texas.
This veteran cornerman trains Jermall, WBC middleweight champion, and Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux.
Joshua, 32, enjoys some downtime Stateside following his defeat to Oleksandr Uzyk (34), in September.
He seems to be enjoying it, with some training and learning from current champions Charlo and Canelo.
After Joshua's loss to Usyk in 12 rounds, he was faced with calls from his trainers to replace him.
These same doubts were raised in June 2019 when he lost against Andy Ruiz Jr., but he won the rematch six years later.
After cleverly switching tactics to outbox Ruiz (32), he was rewarded for his loyalty when he won the WBA, IBF, and WBO belts.
Joshua is not yet certain that Rob McCracken, his trusted coach who led him twice to Olympic gold and unified titles, will be leaving.
Before Ruiz's defeat, AJ brought in Joby Clayton and Angel Fernandez as additional trainers.
Joshua will benefit from the knowledge of American coaches before he fights Usyk again.
Eddie Hearn confirmed that he has invoked his right for an immediate rematch. The target date is March or April.
The promoter didn't rule out any new faces in his training team to solve the Usyk puzzle. He is undefeated in 19 fights.
Boxing Social was told by Hearn that AJ would like to analyze why he performed as he did.
"Yeah, the tactics were wrong, he underperformed. But why?
It's hard to just say "He didn't know the tactics and he underperformed," because let's not forget about Usyk's brilliance.
"AJ will never forget to look at his preparation and learn from it.
"If it's about changing things, looking at bringing in people, or whatever he has to do, he will."
