Joshua Reflects on Boxing Risks
British heavyweight Anthony Joshua has shared his thoughts on the dangers of boxing following the tragic death of young bantamweight Kazuki Anaguchi.
Joshua, 34, is gearing up to face UFC icon Francis Ngannou on Friday, aiming to maintain his winning streak after victories against Otto Wallin, Robert Helenius, and Jermaine Franklin.
Stressing the Importance of Health
Despite his success in the sport, Joshua emphasized the importance of health and safety in boxing, acknowledging the risks involved. He highlighted the recent passing of Anaguchi at just 23 years old, cautioning that such tragedies can happen to anyone.
Anaguchi tragically lost his life in February, over a month after sustaining a brain injury during a fight in December. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, he was unable to recover.

Respecting Ngannou in the Ring
With his upcoming bout against Ngannou, Joshua's new trainer, Ben Davison, has advised him to approach the fight with respect, noting Ngannou's power and composure in the ring. Despite Ngannou's limited boxing experience, he has proven himself as a formidable opponent.
Ngannou's controversial points defeat to Tyson Fury in October showcased his punching prowess, making him a serious contender in the heavyweight division.
As Joshua prepares for his next challenge, he remains mindful of the inherent risks in boxing and the importance of training smart to safeguard his health and well-being.
