Anthony Joshua offers to fight Deontay wilder next... but Eddie Hearn still hasn't heard from him

EDDIE HEARN revealed that he was left behind by Deontay's team, after a new approach to them following a grudge match against Anthony Joshua.

In 2018, both men were able to grab all the heavyweight belts, but a blockbuster title fight between them failed to materialize.

Both fighters and promoters were left with a bitter taste. However, Team Wilder reached out to Hearn to inquire about their interest in a possible fight.

SecondsOut was informed by the Matchroom Boxing chief: "I actually reached Shelly Finkel yesterday.

"Because Deontay Wilder offered me so much money, they never came back to me."

"I don’t know if Deontay Wilder doesn’t want to hear about that offer, or anything else."

Joshua, 32, will return to action Saturday night in a rematch against Oleksandr Uzyk for all but one heavyweight belt.

Hearn thinks Wilder might be up for a shootout if the Brit loses to the southpaw in his Saudi showdown.

He said, "But right now, as I stand here and think about Saturday night's fight for AJ, I honestly don't think about it."

"They all win. He loses, I believe the Wilder fight is still there.

"If he wins all he thinks about is the final fight with Fury for all the belts."

Wilder, a former WBC heavyweight champion, will face Robert Helenius on October 15.

This will be the American's first fight since Tyson Fury brutally knocked him out in round one of his trilogy fight last October.

He stated, "It has been a long road for me and it continues as of today. I

"I thought so many times whether to stay out of the company or return.

"Once I had my statue installed in my hometown, I saw so many people come and celebrate with us and our family. To see the emotions, grown men crying before their children and declaring that he is a true king made me feel like my job was not over.

"So, here's me again, looking forward for the return to the ring.

"I look forward to going to Barclays Center. It is a place where my worst knockouts occurred and a place that I consider my second home.
