Anthony Joshua Receives Challenge from Francis Ngannou Following Tyson Fury Bout

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, has called out Anthony Joshua for a fight after his narrow defeat to Tyson Fury in October. Ngannou proposed that the fight could take place "in the ring or in the octagon."

Ngannou's Ambitious Call Out

Ngannou expressed his desire to fight Joshua during an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast. He stated, "Anything that he wants. Ring or octagon. The good thing is I’m the one that can go everywhere comfortably. My comfort zone will be the octagon, but I’m going to the ring and putting them in a bad spot in the ring."

Ngannou further emphasized his dominance by adding, "I have my territory [in MMA] where they cannot mess with me. If they come, they will need something like some favor, like, ‘I’ll give you this, we’ll take kicks out.’ I have to give him something, but when we step in the ring, they don’t give me anything and I still get them in trouble."

Joshua's Upcoming Fight

Meanwhile, Joshua is set to face Swedish boxer Otto Wallin on December 23. The match is expected to be a tough challenge for the British heavyweight.

Anticipated Showdown with Wilder

If both Joshua and Wilder emerge victorious in their upcoming fights, many fans are hoping for a long-awaited showdown between the two heavyweight champions. Wilder is scheduled to fight Joseph Parker on the same night as Joshua's bout with Wallin, with the card serving as a potential eliminator.

Ngannou's Impressive Performance

Ngannou's call out of Joshua comes after his impressive performance against Fury in October, where many spectators believed he actually won the bout. The fight was meant to decide the undisputed heavyweight champion, but Fury's cut sustained during the match postponed the anticipated showdown with Oleksandr Usyk until February.
