ANTHONY JOSHUA would tell his Olympic-winning self that he should work harder and not lose his world heavyweight title.
The Watford hulk, a ten-year-old man who won super-heavyweight gold at London 2012 Olympics, became a national hero ten years and four days ago.
Joshua hopes to be a three-time champion at world heavyweight on Saturday
After winning gold at London's Olympic Games, Joshua became a professional in 2013.
This feat catapulted the powerhouse at 6ft 6in to three world titles, and millions of dollars.
Joshua is now aware that he could have done more, especially after Oleksandr Usyk's points defeat last September. This cost him his WBA and IBF belts.
They will meet in Jeddah again on Saturday for AJ's crucial fight.
Joshua, now 32 years old, was asked what he would tell his 22-year-old self if he could travel back in time.
He stated, "I have a lot experience that I could pass along."
"I would say train hard. Although I did my best to prepare for the task, I found that I was unable to train as hard this time around.
"I have pushed myself harder than ever before. I have pushed myself to the limits and accomplished things that I had never attempted in training. This has been possible because I lost. At the time I was winning, I felt that what I was doing was sufficient."
AJ admits that he regrets not meeting Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder ten years after he started his career.
Both the deals for each -- to determine an undoubted heavyweight ruler -- were very close before they collapsed.
Fury won two of the three spectacular fights with American fighters and was crowned the No. 1 in the division.
Joshua added that he would not have changed anything if he had 24 wins in 26 fights.
"Maybe, I would have probably had another fight. The Wilder fight and Fury fights were possible, but they did not happen.
"Other then that, everything has been relevant for the time.
"But, now that I look back, I would like to pass on my knowledge and experience to the younger fighters." "I feel that I have a lot of experience."
His Ring Magazine belt, which Fury retired on Friday, is now available in Jeddah alongside AJ's old straps.
The clear boss of each division is the one who holds the Ring belt.
Joshua laughed and said, "Eddie Hearn called and messaged me about it. I didn't even respond." I'm not interested in the Ring Magazine belt.
"That's where I am at, this fight is all about the fight."
AJ is only days away from possibly reclaiming the belts
