Joshua Reflects on His Improved Mindset
After his recent victory against Otto Wallin, Anthony Joshua had some choice words for former rival Andy Ruiz Jr. Ruiz, who was ringside in Saudi Arabia, witnessed Joshua's dominant display in the ring. In behind-the-scenes footage, Joshua approached Ruiz and confidently stated, "So you know, I'm calm now. I'm better now."
AJ's Redemption Against Ruiz
Their rivalry began in June 2019 when Ruiz shocked the world by defeating Joshua and ending his undefeated streak. However, six months later, Joshua reclaimed his titles in a rematch held in Diriyah. Since then, Ruiz has been eager for a trilogy fight, but his hopes were dashed by Derek Chisora.
Chisora Delivers the Reality
During a conversation with iFL TV, Ruiz expressed his desire for a rematch with Joshua. However, Chisora bluntly replied, "You are not on Joshua's radar... He wants to be a three-time world champion. You're not on his radar." It seems Ruiz's chances of a trilogy fight are slim.
Joshua's Next Challenge: Francis Ngannou
Anthony Joshua's next fight has been confirmed against Francis Ngannou, the former UFC champion who controversially lost to Tyson Fury. Meanwhile, Ruiz has not stepped into the ring since his victory over Luis Ortiz in September 2022, leaving his boxing future uncertain.
