Article Recap Voiced by Matthew McConaughey
The highly anticipated boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder may finally be confirmed tonight. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this showdown, and if all goes according to plan, the announcement could come as early as 12:15 am in the UK.
Joshua, the British boxer, is currently preparing for his upcoming heavyweight contest against Otto Wallin at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. Wallin has had success in his recent fights, but has yet to deliver a knockout blow like he did against Fury in Las Vegas.
If Joshua emerges victorious, he could find himself in a mandatory position to challenge Oleksandr Usyk for the IBF title. Meanwhile, Wilder is set to fight Joseph Parker on the same fight card. The stage is set for an explosive matchup between Joshua and Wilder in 2024.
Steve Bunce's Prediction
According to BBC boxing expert Steve Bunce, the official announcement for the Joshua vs Wilder fight could happen tonight. Bunce believes that the clash will take place in Saudi Arabia on March 9, 2024. He shared his insights on BBC Breakfast, stating, "If they both win, it will be announced probably by 3:15 am Saudi time, 12:15 am UK. It will be announced that March 9th, back in Riyadh, Joshua and Wilder. This boxing business never ceases to amaze me and I live in amazing times."
Bunce's Analysis of Tonight's Fights
While discussing tonight's fights, Bunce highlighted the potential challenges that both Joshua and Wilder may face. He believes that Wallin could pose an "incredibly hard" fight for Joshua. However, Bunce expressed confidence in Joshua's performance and noted the determination he saw in his eyes and words during their recent interview.
As for Wilder, he may struggle against Joseph Parker due to his extended absence from the ring. With only two minutes and 57 seconds of fight time in the past two years and three months, Wilder's match with Parker presents a significant risk. Parker, a former world champion, is known for his strength and talent. This fight is full of uncertainty and will test Wilder's abilities.
Boxing fans around the world eagerly await the official announcement of the Joshua vs Wilder fight. Stay tuned for updates as we witness the next chapter in these heavyweight rivals' careers.
