In front of 70,000 people at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Usyk outclassed Joshua to win the WBA and IBF world titles.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, admitted that Joshua did not have the same ability as he expected in a potential rematch.
AJ said that the fight was a learning opportunity in the post-fight press conference and vowed to take revenge on Usyk.
The two sides have been trying to negotiate a big money-spinning sequel ever since, but Joshua's offers to step aside in order to let Tyson Fury fight has stalled the process.
Fury will now face mandatory challenger Dillian Youte, leaving Usyk, Joshua and Joshua to fight again.
Joshua is currently looking for a new trainer after having tried American coaches Robert Garcia and Virgil Hunter as well as Ronnie Shields, Canelo's trainer Eddy Reynoso.
Joshua said that he needed to learn from men who have trained - Robert Garcia has trained 13 world champions, Joshua said on iFL TV.
"They have so many generations of teachings. Andre Ward was a remarkable fighter who was trained by Virgil Hunter.

Hearn claimed previously that the fight would be held at an open-air UK venue.
After the fight, he stated that "it's very likely to occur in the UK", but that he would sit down and consider the options.
There will be other ways to do it. (But) Saturday's pluses and minuses will be dealt with elsewhere. Have you ever seen anything similar? It was amazing! It was unlike anything you have ever seen.
"So, I'd love to do it again in England. Perhaps at Spurs, Wembley or the Emirates. There will be people who want to do it elsewhere, but I don’t see why it should be outside of England.
They are likely to also be approached from the Middle East, as Saudi Arabia hosted Joshua's fight against Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019.
In the post-fight press conference, Usyk stated that he was excited for the second fight at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev (Ukraine).
The new unified champ stated, "I would love to have a rematch at Olympiyskiy Stadium Kiev."
