Anthony Joshua was criticized for 'poncing about' with Usyk, and Carl Froch told AJ to get rid of 'hangers on' in advance of the rematch

CARL FROCH slammed Anthony Joshua for "poncing around" against Oleksandr Uzyk and ordered him to axe everyone 'hanging around in his camp.

Joshua gave up the unified heavyweight crown to Usyk last September, and was astonished at his tactical approach.

AJ attempted to outsmart the skilled southpaw, but instead of using his natural size to bullishly box Ukrainian, AJ used his natural size to do so.

Froch, 44, used Froch's 2012 victory against Lucien Bute to show Joshua how a slippery southpaw should be fought.

He also urged fans to not rule out a comeback victory next time around - but only if AJ rips off his game plan and gets down to it.

Froch stated to YouTube channel Boxing UK that if someone is taller, more reachable, and heavier than you, it's an easy decision.

"F***ing get on him. Dragdoll him. Push him back. Lean on him. Hit him around the body. Hit him low. If you need to, f***ing drop a nut on him.

"Get the win. Don't just sit back and wait.

"A disappointing performance by AJ. One he can vastly improve upon, quite easily.

"So, you can't put him out in the rematch, but he must change his tactics."

After the loss, Joshua's long-serving head coach Rob McCracken and his assistants Joby Clayton as well as Angel Fernandez and Angel Fernandez were questioned.

Froch urged AJ not to allow any unwelcome opinions in the training camp or corner.

He insisted McCracken was the man who guided him to the world title glory - as long as his voice is only the one calling the shots.

Froch stated that he heard there would be major changes in his training team. It's not clear how it will pan out.

Rob McCracken is a great trainer if he listens to his clients and can do the job without having to be told what to do.

"How many people are you seeing squinting in the corner?" What number of people hang around the changing rooms?

"How many people are there in the camp blowing down AJ’s ears?

"Rob is respectful of people but he's the boss. He should be giving the instructions. Sometimes I feel that this is not the case.

He won't stay there, but AJ realizes that he must downsize, get back to basics, and remember his best performances.

"When Klitschko climbed off the canvas to beat Klitschko who was he listening too?

"He lost to Ruiz, but then he won against Ruiz,"
