Joshua defends his world heavyweight belts again Saturday night

AJ shared the difficult sacrifices he made to keep lean and mean, before weighing in at 17st 2lb yesterday. He stated, "I made the sacrifice. I stayed at camp this time."

"I used go home every weekend to catch up with my family. This time, I decided to stay in camp.

"I didn’t see my family or my boy during that time. I made the commitment to live a boxer's lifestyle and not just go home every weekend.

"But sparring partners do this, they are away their families. Why shouldn't I?

"I'll catch up again with the family on Sunday."

AJ will not be asked any questions by JJ regarding boxing, regardless of whether he wins, loses, or draws against Usyk.

Father-son duo prefers to turn off work for family time.

AJ laughed and said, "I don’t even know if Daddy is here. I’m just a mate."

"He is quite independent, so he is chilled. He doesn't cling on to my leg, do I understand? He is very independent.

"I don’t believe he is interested in boxing or any other sport. He is more interested in computers and motorbikes. He likes motorbikes.

Although JJ might not feel the effects of the big fight, 66,000 people will be in North London tonight.

Joshua, the WBA/IBF and WBO kings, will gain a 20lb weight edge in the showdown against Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight champion.

Yesterday's weigh-in was 17st 2lb for AJ. This is the same weight as last December when he defeated Kubrat Pulev in nine rounds. Usyk weighed 15st 11lbs.

After looking tired in the middle rounds, the Watford hero was 17st 12lbs and had won his famous win over Wladimir Klotschko in April 2017.

Six months later, he was lethargic while doing ten rounds at Carlos Takam's unfavorable 18st 2lbs.

Joshua said that weight is not an issue.

He said, "I don’t really monitor my weight. I don't understand why weights are so important.

"I believe that because we are heavyweights, people look at us when our heaviest.

"I was 18 at one point, but I still managed throw a lot of combos. I went ten rounds so I should be capable of doing 12 rounds.

"Weight doesn’t matter as long as you’re agile and loose."

"But if it were me who was heavier, I would be doing it. Now I'm lighter, I should be more able to do it with much more ease."
