EDDIE HEARN predicted that Anthony Joshua would fight Oleksandr Uzyk NEXT in Juni.
After Usyk courageously defended Ukraine during Russia's invasion, the heavyweight rematch was postponed.
Anthony Joshua could next fight Oleksandr Uzyk in June
It has been revealed that the Ukrainian Government could grant special permission for the two-weight world champion to withdraw from the war.
Hearn also responded to a question from an Instagram Live viewer, asking if AJ would fight Usyk again. Or if he would take an interim fight.
Responding to the promoter, he stated that he believed the contract rematch would be next, possibly as soon as June.
Joshua, 32, was defeated by Usyk (35), in September. However, the contract provided for a second fight if Usyk lost.
He was forced to consider an interim bout when the reigning unified champ signed on to serve his country.
Vasiliy Lomachenko (34), was faced with a similar situation after seeing his fight for the lightweight world title against George Kambosos Jr., also shelved.
The grant could help the Ukrainian boxing stars to get out of military service.
Bob Arum stated to Fanatics View, "The Ukrainian government is enormous and are cooperating with us as far Lomachenko as Usyk.
They realize the immense publicity that comes with having them train, fight and compete in title fights.
"Hopefully, the war will be over by then, but if not, [they] will go back to defense mode.
"So I don’t know where it stands with either guy, whether they’re going to accept that offer from the cultural minister of Ukraine to go and train for fights."
