ANTHONY JOSHUA is reportedly willing to reconsider his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk - despite Tyson Fury's claims that he's ready to face Dillian Whyte.
WBC heavyweight champ Fury suggested that his long-awaited match with Whyte was nearing completion this morning, just hours after Joshua accused Fury of not paying a lucrative step-aside.
Tyson Fury claimed that Anthony Joshua rejected step-aside cash for his rematch against Oleksandr Usk
Eddie Hearn, however, insists that Joshua, a Watford warrior and not the Gypsy King has yet to decide on his next move.
The Daily Mail was informed by the Matchroom Boxing chief: "It seems Tyson doesn't want usyk next."
You never know what he wants, but at the moment he insists on a warm up fight with Whyte, which would delay everything.
"AJ cannot wait all year, while Fury continues to meet Usyk in the summer.
"He would have to get cast-iron guarantees in order to be undisputed champion by December."
According to current circumstances, Fury's Battle of Britain With Whyte will go to purse bidding at 6 pm UK time Friday.
Joshua's rematch against the undefeated Usyk will be held in spring, barring any dramatic twist of events.
Hearn stated that he had submitted the notice and fee for Dillian's bid.
"Frank Warren, Bob Arum might seek another extension in the bidding. We would agree if it looked as if there was a chance to reach a deal in advance."
Hearn accused Fury, a former lineal heavyweight champion, of avoiding the chance to be undisputed heavyweight champion.
He stated to iFL TV, "The truth of the situation is that we would be willing for a long-form agreement with a Plan for AJ.
"But we are not at that stage. Tyson Fury was able to discuss the topic - Fury does not want to fight Usyk in my opinion.
"Because he was able to do it through these conversations and really, when it came to it, it was really down to it, it was really not something he wanted to.
"Fury would like to have a March one, and that's all he wants.
"Now, he will have to fight DillianWhyte. And by the way, after all this kerfuffle he'll be beat by DillianWhyte. He'll get knocked unconscious by DillianWhyte.
"But, the truth is, he didn't want to fight Oleksandr Uzyk when it came down to it."
"Because he could have gone straight into Oleksandr Uzyk's fight, but he didn’t want to fight Oleksandr Uzyk.
"But that's not what you'll ever hear, and that's exactly what the public will never hear." Fury will only be heard on Instagram screaming and shouting using smoking mirrors.
Fury appears to have reacted to Whyte's decision, but Hearn refuses to rule out the possibility that a unification bout between Usyk and Fury could be arranged at any time.
He stated that he didn't think it was off the table, as people are still talking about it. It's not something I have negotiated.
"We have been approached with a plan, and from my perspective, I'm saying that I would be open to a long-form deal to look at any kind of plan that would allow AJ to fight Fury or Usyk for AJ's 'best heavyweight tag in the world'.
"But the truth is that Tyson Fury's decided that he doesn’t want to fight Usyk next.
"Whether he says it or not, the truth is out there. He wasn't willing to fight Oleksandr Uzyk for undisputed.
"Because of his desire to fight Dillian Whyte in March, he now wants to fight him." He is always changing his mind."
