Joshua had inked a lion, a forest on his middle finger to cover the calluses.

Two years ago, the former world champion showed off a tattoo on both his middle fingers to hide calluses that he had picked up during boxing.

Victor Tsyhanou from Southgate SG Tattoo asked the heavyweight star to ink a lion on his middle digit.

Cleverly, one callus was used as the moon because of its cool design that concealed his wounds.

Joshua had previously inked several tattoos. SunSport will explain the meaning of each tattoo and how it was done.

TEAM GB

Joshua has the Team GB lion emblem inked below his neck and between his large shoulders.

After representing his country at 2012 Olympics, Joshua did that after he won gold.

This was the first time that Great Britain had ever achieved such success in more than 100 years. It looked like he would be heading for silver right up to the last round.

Joshua overcame a three point deficit in the final round to win super-heavyweight gold against Roberto Cammarelle, the reigning champion from Italy.

AJ shared his victory with the BBC, saying: "That medal symbolizes my journey and the support of the team. This is more than a gold medal. It's a life experience that I am proud to wear.

He was so proud, he needed a permanent reminder of his accomplishment with a tattoo.

"WISDOM"

Wisdom is important to AJ because he says he's always learning.

It's why it is tattooed on his right sidearm

He said about the tattoo he had done before he fought Vitali Klitschko, "I always seek wisdom.

"I have always desired it so it was meaningful and relevant to me."

Or he has seen Goodfellas far too many times.

IT BEGAN IN AFRICA

Joshua's life has been influenced greatly by the continent of Africa.

He has the outline of Africa's map etched on his right side, just below the word wisdom

His beloved mum, Yeta Odusanya, is from Nigeria. While his paternal great grandfather is one of the most prominent men in Sagamu, he is also considered to be one of the finest men.

The tat is simply a nod to Joshua’s heritage.

He said, "I learned more about my family's past and ended up getting an Africa-themed tattoo."

"It was a good combination to have 'Wisdom" and your heritage tattooed underneath. It went well."

In total, Joshua has four tattoos decorating his sculpted body. He'll need to improve on Deontay Wilder who is completely covered in tattoos.
